When I first learned to design I was taught to never use gradients, and this project relied heavily on how to use gradients. I made a few sketches for an ecobulb, a lightbulb with an ecosystem. I liked my first design and started by making the shape of the bulb. I applied a gradient mesh and applied colors to each individual anchor point to give it a lighting effect. I then repeated these steps for the metal screw, the grass and everything else as I added more parts to the ecobulb. I finished by adding an opaque copy of the bulb over the original to seperate the broken glass from the intact, then added a fading reflection and a shadow underneath.
