The Mandolorian Documentary
For this project, I had to create a three minute documentary about the Disney Star Wars show, The Mandalorian.
Choosing An Angle
I was provided many interviews with different directors and actors who have worked on the show and was tasked with making a short documentary on whatever topic I wanted. I started by combing through all the interviews and coming up with topics. Some of those topics included; the actors themselves, the Star Wars experience, how the show is made, and more. I ended up making the documentary about the main character, Mando. I included clips from Dave Filoni, Pedro Pascal, and more. I used shots from the show, the main theme as background music, and several different Star Wars images to give the viewer a more intriguing experience. Look below for the final result.

The Intern: A Mockumentary
For this project, I had to create a three minute mockumentary based off of footage from Sonnyboo.com.
Using What Is Given
The mockumentary was pretty straightforward, almost to the point where I felt if I didn’t stick to the bits they had, then the clips wouldn’t make sense.
I had a few creative liberties, such as music and the way I cut and placed the bits, but aside from that the video was pretty much already laid out in order with what we were given.

Movie Trailer Challenge
For this project, I had to create a movie trailer for the movie Terminator: Dark Fate, a challenge from Cinestudy.
Crafting the Storyline
Cinestudy provided clips from the original trailer, as well as dialogue. To start, I found a song for free on Cambridge Music Technology that started slow and built up well. This particular song had lyrics talking about a game that can’t be won, which I used as my narrative for the trailer because with so many Terminator movies, that seems to be the case, that our protagonists can never truly win. After arranging the music, I lined up the dialogue to first tell Sarah Conners story, then led it into the lyrics about a game that can’t be won. I emphasized this point by following the lyrics up with clips of the antagonist and dialogue from the new protagonist saying that the future changed, but not their fate. I then added a few more lines of dialogue to showcase the relationships between the characters, which had clips that went back and forth between the antagonist and our protagonists. I then added extra sounds like gun shots and drum beats to emphasize certain moments. The final result is what you see below.

Multicam Recording and Editing
For this project, I assisted in recording one of the shots and edited everything. The recording was done in three shots: a wide shot of everyone, a tighter shot of just the interviewees, and a close up of the interviewer. Due to the house audio not working, we had to mic up everyone to a Tascam recorder. Because of this, I had to manually sync up all the audio and video while editing. While editing, I mixed all video tracks into one track to be cut back and forth between the three shots. I then went through both interviews and cut between each shot for the appropriate angles on each segment. After that, I edited the color of the video. There were red lights on during the recording, so I had to take the red tint out of things like the floor, the furniture, and the skin. Lastly, I fixed the few problems with the audio. Some men spoke louder than others, so I made sure they were all nearly at the same level. I also took out many of the s’s that one man had a lot of, and made sure the audio didn’t peak when they would laugh.
